Unbeaten boxer Qasim ‘Cast Iron’ Niaz makes his long awaited return to the ring next month and has spoken to Asian Image of the journey back.

He was recently helping to inspire the next generation of fighters at the Blackburn Cobras ABC.

He conducted a number of sessions with the kids alongside coach Mumtaz and raffled two tickets for his next fight which takes place in Bolton on October 22.

Qasim said it had been a tough 18 month journey getting back to his best but he was looking forward to competing again, “Things were going so well and I was on the verge of a big fight for the WBC youth title which was previously held by likes of Adrien Broner and Canelo” Álvarez.

“Unfortunately got Injured during training camp and been out ever since, “It’s been a tough road back and I even thought about quitting at times “It’s hard to handle when things are going so well for you and then all of a sudden it all changes, it was hard to take but thank God I’m back now and I can’t wait to fight.”

Qasim who is unbeaten in eight fights will be hoping to land a bigger bout next year if he can get through October 22.

“It was good visiting Blackburn Cobras ABC and meeting the next generation of fighters.

“It has been good also to gain a lot of support from friends and fans. Hopefully I can do them proud again next month.”

Qasim will be fighting at the Macron in Bolton on Saturday 22 October. For tickets call 07440 585451.
