Staff and customers at the Preston Heavenly Dessert store collected a massive £5,600 for charity in a day of fundraising.

The money was raised by staff who also donated a day’s wage to the appeal.

All proceeds will be handed to Action For Humanity, a UK-registered charity. Over the past 12 years, the charity has provided aid to more than 18million people in need.

The aid includes building homes in Syria, feeding families facing famine in Yemen, delivering babies in Iraq, helping the homeless in the UK, delivering water to Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh and responding to emergencies in Palestine.
