A series of videos have been produced to give people an insight into the challenges faced by police officers and staff during the holy month of Ramadan.

The first video features PCSO Ahmed Farooqi from the South Manchester Division.

Deputy Chief Constable Ian Hopkins said: “We have launched a series of videos to give people an insight into the challenges faced by Greater Manchester Police colleagues observing Ramadan alongside their policing duties.

“Hopefully the videos will give an insight into what observing Ramadan means for our colleagues and help to give a better understanding to those of us of a different faith or no faith.

“I think it is really important that we all try to understand the differences that collectively make GMP and our communities stronger.

We are incredibly thankful to our Muslim colleagues for their continued commitment to helping keep people safe across Greater Manchester throughout the holy month.

“On behalf of GMP I’d like to wish Ramadan Mubarak to the Muslim community of Greater Manchester.”
