Bodybuilder Nasar Zeb was named Mr Pennine and narrowly missed out on the Mr Liverpool title recently.

The 40-year-old took home top spot in the Mr Pennine competition and finished runners-up in the Mr Liverpool tournament.

For the Mr Pennine show he was representing the Muscle Factory Gym in Burnley owned by Buddy Khan. For the Liverpool event he was representing the Apex Hindley Gym in Wigan.

He said, “It was a great achievement to be honoured at both events.”

Nasar has been bodybuilding for over ten years and is planning to take part in further shows next year.

“I was invited to the British finals but I can’t compete due to Ramadan.”

He said diet was a very important in the run-up to any competitions.

“I have been following a strict diet since early January eating mostly fish, sweet potatoes. It is normally very bland food!

“I’ve not had Asian food since mid-January. I have to say clogs your digestive system up.

“The big thing is to drink lots of water. I was drinking 10 litres a day.

“Eighteen hours before the competition I was not drinking any water though.”

He said he wanted to inspire other people his age to ensure they took their fitness seriously.

“I always do something then set yourself a target. I needed an aim and something to achieve.

“Motivated a lot of people I know to get fit too. I just wanted something to aim for rather than going to the gym and just lifting weights.”
