BOXING star Amir Khan has no intention of leaving his home town — saying he 'will always live in Bolton.'

The 28-year-old two-time world champion has committed himself to living in Bolton and says he never wants to leave.

Amir recently flew out to the Greek island of Lesbos to hand out vital aid to hundreds of desperate refugees who have fled their homes in Syria because of the brutal civil war taking place there.

He said the charity mission was an incredible experience — but was glad to return to the town he loves and always wants to live in.

He said: “I will always live in Bolton — I have always said that to everyone.

“People have often asked me in the past why I don’t move away — they say ‘why don’t you move to Manchester, why don’t you go here or there.

“But Bolton is where I come from and where I have always been.”

He said it is the warmth of the people of the borough that makes him so keen to stay, adding: “The people of Bolton are so lovely and are so close to me — I never want to leave.”

His pledge indicates that he intends to raise his young daughter, Lamaisah, in Bolton — after she was born last year.

He lives with his wife Faryal — who moved from her home in America to join her husband after their lavish wedding ceremony back in 2013.

Amir was deeply moved by his recent charity mission, which also saw a team of volunteers drive a convoy of vans through Europe to deliver 24 tonnes of the donated aid.

The boxer — who is eyeing up a bout with Philippino legend Manny Pacquiao for his next fight — said charity will be his main focus when his fighting career comes to a close.

He said: “I’ve always been involved with charity and after my boxing career ends, it is charity that I want to get into full-time.

“I want to make a difference and help people around the world, that is something I really want to do — it will give me another adrenalin buzz like boxing does.”

Earlier this year, Amir was honoured by his home town university, receiving an honorary doctorate for services to sport and charity.
