BOLTON women cricket stars Nalisha Patel, Meg Fairclough and Bhumika Doshi gave impressive performances as Lancashire won twice in the national Twenty20 competition.
The Lancashire Thunder – as they are nicknamed – maintained their unbeaten start in Division Two with victories over Warwickshire and Cricket Wales at Leamington Cricket Club on Sunday.
Horwich's Patel took 1-12 and Egerton's Fairclough 2-17 off their four overs to help turn the game against Warwickshire in their team's favour.
They followed up against Wales with Fairclough taking 1-5 and two catches and Patel taking 1-14.
They were joined in that game by fellow Boltonian Doshi of Egerton, who starred with 1-4 and one maiden from her four overs as leaders Lancashire won by eight wickets to become the only side with a 100 per cent winning record in the division.
Bury's Kate Cross, who scored 45 not out against Warwickshire, has been selected for the England Test and one-day squads for the forthcoming Women's Ashes series against Australia.
