We are down to the final few four in the World Cup. Here, is our best five moments from the World Cup so far.

Fearless Ireland shock West Indies.

.

One doesn’t associate Ireland with cricket very too often, but try telling that to the fearless national side! The colourful Irish fans were left partying into the night as Ireland produced a brave and equally admirable performance against the Windies. The Irish openers were in tantalising form with Stirling, Joyce and O’Brien chipping away scores of 92, 84 and 79 runs respectively.

Chris Gayle v Zimbabwe.

.

Chris Gayle never ceases to amaze me. The monster of a batsman seems only to get better with age as he bullied Zimbabwe with the bat. Fair enough, the opposition wasn’t all that great but even so he managed to hit more than half of West Indies 372. Smashing a mammoth 215 off 147 meant that Gayle had rewritten ICC World Cup history with the highest score.

Martin Guptill 237 v West Indies It began pretty slowly but once Guptil went past 100 things got worse for the West Indies. A ferocious batting display that got better and better. Another five overs and he may well have made it to to 300!

Bangladesh dump out England.

Not so great if you are an England fan but fantastic if you are a Bangladeshi one. We like upsets and this one was pretty big by any standards. Chasing 276 to win England begin to lose wickets and in the end can only manage 260.

Trent Boult v Australia.

.

Many cricket fans around the world do believe that the two host nations will reach the finals on March 29 and from their earlier meeting you can clearly see why New Zealand are favourites. With four wins out of four, the Kiwis restricted the Aussies to an achievable 151. Trent Boult particularly caught the eye, taking five wickets and only conceding 27 runs off his ten overs. Australia didn’t go down without a fight though, but New Zealand managed to scrape through.
