Ozil to donate World Cup winnings to Gaza
German footballer Mesut Ozil is to donate his World Cup winnings to Brazilian projects and not to Gaza it has now been confirmed.
AP is reporting that the 25-year-old had given his £240,000 prize money to ‘projects in Brazil.’ It had earlier been reported that Ozil had donated the money to the Children of Gaza.
Earlier, the Algerian national team donated their £5.25m prize money to the people of Gaza.
