A fine-dining halal restaurant which specialises in gourmet food is attracting customers from across the region.

Gourm8 based in Whalley New Road, Blackburn, opened in December last year and offers a range of unique South African flavoured burgers and steaks.

The modern restaurant can seat up to 78 guests and is also popular for their burgers, African ribs, barbeque wings, hot chicken strips and African full bird.

Manager Zahrah Hussain said, “Gourm8 is inspired by my African background and African cooking.

“We offer a range of dishes which have proved to be popular with people across Lancashire and Yorkshire.

“It is all in the unique flavouring and our menu is something you won’t find anywhere else”.

“As well as the signature steak and burger dishes we also have vegetarian meals.”

The popularity of high-quality gourmet food is only just becoming popular within the halal food industry. Gourm8 is known for their burgers, African ribs, BBQ wings, hot chicken strips to mention a few.

Zahrah added, “The difference is in the quality and the freshness of the meat and our customers like the presentation as well as the unique flavouring “We make the ingredients and sauces from scratch and in house as these are genuine South African flavours. Sauces take between 2-3 days to prepare so a lot goes into making these dishes.

“We also have wide variety of milkshakes and desserts and also make our waffles fresh in house as well as our Nutella toasty with Gelato ice-cream. Gourm8 mocktails to compliment the food.

“It’s all about offering the customers something different and unique they won’t find anywhere else.”
